Vail Colorado Lodging-Vail Rentals

By: All-SEO Admin

Years back, I lived in Vail Colorado for a few seasons. (Yes, it IS awesome t be able to ski every day!) Even back then, Vail Colorado lodging and Vail rentals were an issue, and absentee owners would rent out condos to make some extra money. This was before the Internet, before property management companies, online booking agents, and the like. So when I decided to head back to the old stomping grounds, I knew I’d want to rent a condo for the stay.

Why a condo? For starters, it ends up costing a lot less money, but even if it didn’t, I’d still feel a lot more comfortable in a home-type environment than in some little stuffy hotel room. In the condo, I’ve got dishes, glasses, pots and pans, towels and linens are provided, and there’s usually a dishwasher, washer and dryer right there inside the unit. The icemaker isn’t down the hall, it’s in the freezer or the fridge door. So yeah, a condo is definitely the way to go.

The Internet has made for some very sweet innovations, new ways to get things done. I got online, did a quick search, and pretty soon I had a bunch of condo rental choices in front of me. Using the Net, I could take a Vail condo virtual tour – actually see the place I was going to be renting – for example. And I could book online. The whole thing can be handled online these days, start to finish. I had it all lined out, ready to go, give ‘em my credit card number, and press Submit… if not for something tugging at the back of my mind.

What?! What’s the problem? The place looks great, I can see the slopes from the balcony window. What else could I want? Ooooh… yeah. Absentee owners. BAD thing. The booking agents are often the way that the condo owners rent their place out. That means there’s nobody actually around to take care of things. I’d been there and done THAT before, and wasn’t in any hurry to do a repeat. So I checked the company name, and sure enough, they were NOT a Vail property management company, which has local offices to handle the maids, maintenance, etc. It was some online booking agency. Those people had probably never even been to Vail! If there was a problem with the property, something broken or out of order, not only would they not know about it, there’d be nothing they could do about fixing anything! Nope, no thanks. I knew I still wanted a condo, that was the right ticket, but going through some online booking agent was not the answer. NEXT!

Just a few more clicks brought me to a Vail based property management company with just as good a location, the same ability to book online, and even better prices! I could actually talk to someone in Vail about the property. Not only were they able to take good care of the condo that would be my home away from home during that well-earned vacation, but they could arrange for discounts on my lift pass, too! That’s what I’m talkin’ about!

How did it go? It was AWESOME! The property management company had the place in tip-top shape, clean and well organized. They’d even turned down the sheets for me, like you’d expect from a quality hotel! The only thing that was lacking was a mint on the pillow, and I didn’t miss it a bit. We had a great time in Vail, which has some of the best skiing around, by the way, and when it was time to leave, I just left the key on the counter and locked the door behind me. Couldn’t have been any better or more hassle-free! I’m not going to say which company it was – I wanna make sure they’ve got a place for me next time – but I’ll tell ya this much: They’ve got THIS customer for life!
